Apple Music just launched, and independent artists have something to be very excited about. Artists on Apple Music Connect can publish directly to the service from GarageBand for iOS. So what does this mean? It’s a social aspect that gives artist a venue for interacting with fans, allowing for a direct connection and instant feedback.

This sets Apple Music apart from other streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, and Rdio. By allowing any artist to upload their music from GarageBand, Apple Music is trying to differentiate itself as a platform that not only embraces independent music, but invents a new kind of instant feedback loop where musicians can get input from fans for song ideas as they take shape.

Connect is a social service that the others don’t have, and the ability of artists to upload songs from GarageBand cuts out the middleman, giving fans a sense of direct access. Fans also benefit by getting content that may not be found in any other streaming service.

Connect is one more feature that gives Apple the upper hand over it’s competitors. Check it out, and let us know what you think.
